Tom Nauwelaerts is the Managing Director of Momentum Logistics, part the Sharjah based Gulftainer Group, where Tom also serves as a Group Director.
Momentum Logistics is a diversified Logistics Service provider with services portfolio of Freight Forwarding, Transportation, Warehousing and Container Services across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Pakistan and USA.
With over 25 years of experience in supply chain management across numerous markets, including the CIS, Far East and the Middle East region, Tom is responsible for steering the expansion of Momentum Logistics in the 3PL industry.
Prior to joining Momentum Logistics, Tom worked for YBA Kanoo as the head of their logistics division across the Middle East.
With over eight years of experience in the Middle East, Tom held also the position of Managing Director at Al-Futtaim Logistics.
Prior to this he served as Group CEO of WWL-ALS Freight Management Group in the UK and as General Manager Logistics for Ahlers Logistics and Maritime Services, headquartered in Belgium.
During these tenures, Tom oversaw specialized logistics services, such as project forwarding, chartering, and retail and automotive logistics solutions in Transport and Warehousing for fast-growth markets.
With his extensive travel and exposure to varied cultures and business environments, Tom is said to have a very adaptive management style and an ability to connect to all levels in an organization.
Tom has won a number of prestigious Industry awards such as “Supply Chain Manager of the year” award from LOG ME and “Outstanding Achievement of the Year” award from SCATA Middle East.
Tom obtained Post-graduate degrees in Business Administration and Corporate Finance from the Graduate School of Economics and Business at Leuven University.
