Kokubu Group Corp is a food wholesaler and food logistics company in Japan.
The company was founded in 1712 and has a history of more than 300 years.
It currently operates 325 distribution centres in Japan. It stocks 600,000 items at any one time and sells products to more than 35,000 customers.
In overseas business, the Trading Division exports goods from Japan to more than 60 countries around the world, and also operates a food wholesale business and a food logistics business in mainland China and the ASEAN region.
In the ASEAN area, we are currently operating food wholesale and food logistics businesses in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Myanmar.
I joined Kokubu Group Corp after graduating from university in 2000.
For the first nine years, I worked in food and liquor sales at the Kyushu branch office, where I also set up the cold food sales business and the food service sales business.
I was then transferred to the Tokyo head office, where I spent five years in sales activities in the Food Service Division, followed by five years running the division as the profit-and-loss manager for 25 billion Japanese yen.
In 2019, I was transferred to the ASEAN Division of the Overseas Business Department and stationed in Singapore, where I worked on the establishment of Kokubu Singapore Pte Ltd, the ASEAN headquarters company, and the Singapore Food Wholesale Company, which was established in 2020.
In March 2023, I was appointed Director of Kokubu Singapore Pte Ltd and General Manager of the ASEAN Division of the Overseas Business Department of the Kokubu Group Corp, where I am responsible for the entire ASEAN area.
