Port Chaplain
The Mission to Seafarers Singapore (MTSS)
I started as a centre manager in the Mission to Seafarers 20 years. With much prayer and prior Theological development, the call for me to serve in this ministry grew. 5 years ago, after obtaining my license endorsed by the Bishop of the Anglican Church, I was given the opportunity to take over the role as the Port Chaplain.
The Mission to Seafarers has been thriving and staying relevant for more than 160 years, attending to seafarer’s needs in terms of providing social and welfare services. I am also available to conduct spiritual service on board ships should seafarers require. We are no stranger in the seafaring industry, apart from the daily outreach to seafarers from our ship visits in ports, we have cast our nets wider to visiting ships in the anchorages in Singapore, MtSS also operates 2 drop-in centres or Seamen’s Clubs in PSA Container Terminal and in Jurong Port, welcoming seafarers calling in the ports.
