An experienced academic and marketing professional with over 25 year’s work experience, I am an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Heriot Watt University’s Dubai Campus and lead the University’s MSc programmes in International Marketing (with Digital Marketing) and International Business Management.

A specialist in relationship marketing and channel management, I hold PhD in Marketing from the University of Gloucestershire in the UK with a focus on the management of independent intermediary relationships in the UK Life and Pensions industry. I research, teach and consult in the areas of Marketing, Strategic Marketing, Digital Marketing, Marketing Channel Management, Relationship Marketing, CRM, Customer Engagement and B2B Marketing.

Prior to embarking on my academic career, I held marketing and commercial roles (Product Manager, Marketing Analyst, Marketing Assistant and Management Information Specialist, Assistant Buyer) in the Aerospace and Telecommunications industries. I have also undertaken training and consultancy assignments for clients including the Routes to Market Association (RTMA), ADNATCO, Via International and Krone (UK) Technique Limited (now CommScope) and managed a small engineering business.

I am an experienced doctoral supervisor and examiner, with students based in UK, Germany, France and Switzerland and Dubai working in the areas of digital marketing, social media and customer engagement, buyer-seller and customer-salesperson relationships and B2B marketing.
