Azizi Meor Ngah is a widely respected Malaysian business leader with extensive experience in corporate management and in nurturing start-up companies. He completed his postgraduate studies and was awarded his MBA at the Henley Management College, England in 1992. He served for over 40 years in the agriculture and food sector (including a break of 6 years in the media/ICT industry at Kumpulan Utusan Berhad, Asia On-Line Hong Kong and Soft Device Sdn Bhd).
His involvement in the tree crop plantation, agriculture and food started when he was with Kumpulan Guthrie (now under Sime Darby) and spent 24 years building his career. Thereafter, he was appointed as the Chairman of Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority (FAMA) for a period of 4 years, He spent a year as the Chief Executive of Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA) and another 4 years as CEO of the largest local horticulture start-up, Malaysian Agrifood Corporation (MAFC) under Khazanah National Bhd. He was also instrumental in the setting up of Cold Chain Network (CCN), a third-party cold/cool chain
logistics company within the stable of MAFC.
Azizi has been recognised as a supply chain specialist with focus on food safety standards and certification complete with its traceability. Currently he is involved in two blockchain enterprises namely Foodchain Spa (Italy) and the Not-for-Profit Quadrans Foundation (Switzerland). Azizi also served as the pioneering Board member of Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC) Malaysia for a period of 10 years. Currently he is nurturing 2 new start-up companies namely Invest Energy Sdn Bhd (Renewal Energy) and The ASEAN POST (the regional digital content provider).
In the area of climate change, Azizi was the Advisor to the Crops For the Future Research Center (CFFRC) at Semenyih, Selangor. He subscribes to the principles of triple bottom line and social inclusiveness.
