Warehouses are fundamental in supporting supply and fulfilment related activities for as long as one can remember. Since the Industrial Revolution, the role and construction of the ubiquitous warehouse has largely remained faithful to its core purpose of storing and managing inventory to support sanctioned economic activities. Its design and activity scope has also evolved to accommodate more complex requirements as business operating parameters change over time.

The global economy of today is still struggling from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, and recovery attempts are continuously impeded by challenges that has forced businesses to re-think their survival and growth strategies in a world of recurring disruption.
