Markus Kraft is an innovative and strong executive with more than 14 years’ experience in Asia. His roots are in international freight forwarding, supply chain management and end to end customer solutions. His areas of expertise cover all aspects of commercial development – from traditional sales to key account management – as well as supplier and carrier management, procurement for freight services and operations management.
Markus started his career with a British logistics company in Germany after his studies in Mannheim, where he graduated with Bachelor in Logistics and the German degree Diplom Betriebswirt. In 2001, he was transferred from the German organisation to China. His preliminary function was trade lane development and account management. Afterwards, he moved into product development and solutions design, helping sales drive business. During this time, he had exposure to various verticals, ran multiple projects and designed business solutions for warehouse and vendor management opportunities. After 6 years in China, Markus followed a new opportunity to work for the leading sea freight and logistics company, which brought him to Singapore in 2008.
In his last role, he was Managing Director for a German based, family owned, international operating logistics provider. Prior to this he worked as Director of Business Development for a German forwarding company specialising in the chemical sector and DG transport. He headed the Singapore commercial team and subsequently took over the regional account and solution development for Asia.
He is currently lecturing Logistics and Supply Chain and works as Associate Consultant for Drewry Maritime Advisory.
